Month of Nutrition – halfway check-in

How are you doing with your February nutrition goal?

If you’re a Rocky Top athlete who wrote a goal on the Goals Board, you received a text check-in from Erin last week. Folks are off to a strong start, and we want to keep the momentum going throughout the month!

Here are some goals that your friends are pursuing:

  • Drink more water
  • Eat more vegetables
  • Track food in MyFitnessPal
  • Eat Paleo/Primal
  • Reduce processed carbs

These are so great! And it’s awesome to know that we’re all in this together.

If you start to feel your motivation waning though, here are some tips to keep you strong:

Remember your WHY
Why did you set this goal? What did you intend to achieve? Is that end state still important to you? Keep your eyes on the prize.

Win the morning, Win the day
Dig into your goal each day, as soon as the alarm goes off. Are you drinking water? Chug a glass before you pour your coffee. Eating veggies? Incorporate them with breakfast. Tracking your food? Plan out your breakfast the night before, so it’s already in the app. A strong start to each day will keep you motivated to finish the day strong.

The “S” in SMART goals stands for Specific. You’ve all done a great job specifying your goals. Stick to it. Make a game out of hitting exactly what you wanted to hit each day. When your goal is specific, there’s no gray area – you either hit your goal or you don’t. Hit.Your.Goal.
